My twenty years of healthcare experience have taught me the importance of empathy and effective communication in fostering patient trust and understanding. I find fulfillment in helping patients navigate their healthcare journeys. My passion stems from the opportunity to make a tangible difference in people's lives by providing them with the resources and support they need to achieve better health outcomes.

Working in healthcare, I’ve learned so much from the patients I’ve encountered through the years! They’ve taught me how to be empathetic and compassionate, but most importantly to always keep pushing! There’s a quote by MLK that I live by: "If you can't fly, then run. If you can't run, then walk. If you can't walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving.” My patients have shown me that through their strength and courage. I wouldn’t want to be in any other field than healthcare!

I have twelve twelve years experience working with the Duke Division of Community Health at Walltown Clinic on Broad Street. I found it very rewarding working with and supporting patients of all ages who experienced financial hardships with medical expenses, paying for doctor visits, loss of health insurance, paying for medication, and behavioral health issues. Seeing patients come into the clinic feeling discouraged and leaving with a smile on their faces made my job worth while!

I have worked as a nursing assistant in Duke University Hospital and as a patient service associate with Duke Primary Care. My goal in life has always been to help others, and joining DukeWELL is a great step in the right direction for that goal. I feel my background has given me some insight into the different areas and interactions patients at Duke Health experience, and I look forward to bringing that knowledge with me into this new chapter of my career with Duke Health.

Sinclair Hargrave, MA, BS

I graduated magna cum laude from Virginia State University with a bachelor of science in biology and a minor in sociology, and I received a masters in medical science with a concentration in public health from Liberty University. What I enjoy about this work is that it gives me the opportunity to help people in the community dealing with hardships while also allowing me to get a better understanding of the social needs that go along with healthcare. I have always had a desire to help people, and I am very fortunate that this work allows me to do that.
