My twenty years of healthcare experience have taught me the importance of empathy and effective communication in fostering patient trust and understanding. I find fulfillment in helping patients navigate their healthcare journeys. My passion stems from the opportunity to make a tangible difference in people's lives by providing them with the resources and support they need to achieve better health outcomes.

Arlene Ratcliff

I have twelve twelve years experience working with the Duke Division of Community Health at Walltown Clinic on Broad Street. I found it very rewarding working with and supporting patients of all ages who experienced financial hardships with medical expenses, paying for doctor visits, loss of health insurance, paying for medication, and behavioral health issues. Seeing patients come into the clinic feeling discouraged and leaving with a smile on their faces made my job worth while!

I have worked as a nursing assistant in Duke University Hospital and as a patient service associate with Duke Primary Care. My goal in life has always been to help others, and joining DukeWELL is a great step in the right direction for that goal. I feel my background has given me some insight into the different areas and interactions patients at Duke Health experience, and I look forward to bringing that knowledge with me into this new chapter of my career with Duke Health.
