I have been at Duke for 5 years, serving as both a Nursing Assistant and an Advanced Health Unit Coordinator. After completing a Community Health Worker (CHW) certification course at DTCC, I began to better understand the importance of having outreach and resource persons within any given community. I enjoy providing helpful information to those who may not be aware of—or adequately informed of—those things that may help one make better health and lifestyle choices.

A lot of patients have left appointments not recieving all of the help that they may have needed. This has always made me realize that we are missing a step in caring for patients. If I can lend a hand or ease my patients into the best care, then I'll do whatever it takes.

Durham raised and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I have a love for YouTube and Google, learning new skills, and spending time with my husband and two children. I’ve found that I’m highly skilled in communication and building relationships, and this led me to DukeWELL. I enjoy listening to other’s life stories, the battles they came across throughout their most difficult journeys, and how they’ve come out on top. The best thing about hearing these success stories is telling others the stories of another and letting them know that they are just as capable of beating any battle if they put in the work. I believe DukeWELL is where it should start!
