I decided to become a social worker so I can be a part of the solution to so many problems in our country. Previously, I worked in foster care and adoptions and transitioned to education. After COVID, the increase in mental health concerns that I saw on the news reignited my passion to help others. By joining DukeWELL, I will have the opportunity to support the people that are in my community to have a better quality of life. Let’s work!
I am a native of Elizabeth City, NC. I graduated from Elizabeth City State University where I obtained my Bachelors of Social Work. I obtained my MSW from UNC Chapel Hill in 2016. I have over five years of case management experience. Prior to my transition to DukeWELL, I served as a case manager at Duke University Hospital with the General Medicine Department. I enjoy the work that I do because I have the opportunity to foster relationships and serve as a resource to help achieve patients' positive and safe outcomes.
Raised in Elizabeth City, NC, I received my BS in Criminal Justice in 2015 from Elizabeth City State University and my MS in Criminal Justice in 2018 from North Carolina Central University. Prior to joining Duke Health, I was an assessment/intake specialist at a mental health facility for court-involved youth. I enjoy the work that I do, because it positively impacts the communities in which we serve, through building a quality reputation and fostering long-lasting, reciprocal relationships.
I was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. I attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and obtained a degree in Public Health and Health Systems Management. I have a passion for working with kids and have worked in various roles regarding behavioral health and administration. I love working with patients and family while also building meaningful relationships. I am excited to make an impact with DukeWELL!
"I was born in California and raised in Shelby, North Carolina. I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2009 (Go Tarheels!) and earned a Master's in Public Administration from North Carolina Central University in 2017 (Go Eagles!). I enjoy trying new foods, great music, reading, traveling, softball, and trying to salsa dance. I have a daughter who keeps me on my toes. Spending time with her and my other family members and friends truly makes me happy. "
I grew up in a small town in NC and moved to Raleigh to attend NC State University (GO PACK!) in 2002, where I received my undergraduate degree in Political Science and Psychology. Later, after discovering my passion for helping underserved communities, I went back to NC State in order to obtain my Master’s degree in Social Work. I have worked with homeless and underserved populations for over 15 years. I can truly say that it is the most rewarding work—I love my patients! I truly believe that every person has a story of value.
"I was born and raised in North Carolina. I graduated from Meredith College in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. I love to garden and "chef it up" in the kitchen! I also enjoy spending time with my family and three dogs! My husband is a Kentucky native... so naturally, GO WILDCATS!"
